. . . . . a tribute to Felix
In early 2000 this site off Obi Obi Road
was dotted with a mixture of mature trees. The land sloped
gently down to a natural ridge line, forming part of the
Blackall Range southern escarpment.
On the eastern face of the ridge stood my
newly completed ‘mother’ pavilion, its modern
architectural lines echoed the fall of the site, blending
in with the surrounding landscape.
In the
garden shed, attached to the back wall was a beautiful
design for a garden by Felix Adena. There were ponds and
pathways, stone steps and Bali lanterns. Stands of bamboo
framed timber walkways leading to the two, yet to be built, ‘baby’ pavilions
fanning away along the ridge.
